"My first introduction to Zula Jewelry was during a Beaumont Studios food cart party. I distinctly remember being awed by her metal twigs pendants and earrings made from real pieces of trees and shrubs. So I was quite surprised to discover neon plexi-glass jewellery in her studio. Did I have the wrong person? No, but a lot can happen over the course of a few years. Life experiences can send an artist down some interesting paths and in this case it meant reworking left over displays from the old Sears. The natural pieces still exist in the Zula Jewelry repertoire but I’m curious to follow this artist and see what crops up next in her skilled and creative hands.”
